Apostolic Principles

At a point, the Church goes beyond the sphere of conferencing, and enters into the sphere of congressing.  At the stage of a “congress”, the Church begins to translate its spiritual location in Jesus Christ into a world governing instrument.  The Church (at this stage) becomes the “Church Apostolic”, and carries across to various nations particular embodiments of the immense graces in the Incarnation, Death, Resurrection, Ascension, and the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Nations or regions which are impacted by the Church Apostolic grow to become significant spiritual landscapes of the world’s salvation history.

Running an Apostolic Congress requires a lot of hands-on and travailing experience, to realize the mode and shapes of human lives through which the Lord will lead His holy work.

Apostolic Practice

The Apostolic Congress of Great Britain was officially inaugurated, by Divine Providence, at the Stratford Town Hall, London SE15, on 11 November 2001.  It was probably the first plainly stated and purposefully organized apostolic congress in the UK.

Congregations-in-fellowship, ordinands and bishoprics of the Apostolic Congress have always been open-ended self-governing and self-financing institutions.  They define creatively their geo-political and socio-economic context and bring that as gifts of the Lord to the wider body of Christ.  They participate in the Congress on the principle of a matured free-will, exemplified in the Incarnation of Jesus.

For continuous six years, the leadership of the Apostolic Congress of Great Britain laboured through tough frontiers in the nations and in immeasurable tasks.  But then, the travailing experiences have brought the work forward to run as a World Apostolic Congress.

Apostolic Protocol

This World Apostolic Congress is now being declared.  The process is involving working groups and study groups.  These groups are working on critical features of world apostolic ministry.  Maximilian International University College in Ghana, in co-operation with partners across the world, is providing the theological and administrative support.  It is housing the first world centre for the Congress.  It is also exploring a host for the First Assembly of the World Apostolic Congress.  It will then work to support the tasks in hosting the event.

Participation in the World Apostolic Congress is strictly by application to or invitation from the world centre.  Please contact apostolicsynod@yahoo.com to apply or receive invitation.
