The Institute has entered into a collaboration with the Institute for Community Development Societies, UK.  Both Institutes commit to scale-up community development practice and link it to urban partnerships, infrastructural developments, and teaching/research faculties. 

The collaboration facilitates the Maximilian Institute in Ghana to organize applied studies, project-based learning awards, and research-leadership admissions in community-development related disciplines and practices. 

The applied studies include the following: Asset Development and Management, Emergent Businesses and Enterprises, Local Capital Generation, Conflict Resolution, Community Resettlement, Institutional Governance, Collaborative Practice, Extended Family Systems, Household Management, Community Planning, Research Management, Regional Development Studies/Markets, Global Markets, Organisational Renewal, Urban Economy, Community Economic Development Practice, International Business Management, Urban Development Strategies, Leadership, Practitioner Research, Continuing Education, Financial Institutions and Funding Programmes, African Union (Mechanisms, Protocols, or Projects), and Project Development and Management. 

The project-based learning awards are offered with respect to an applied study. The awards include the following: Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Practitioner-Diploma, Advanced Practitioner-Diploma, Executive Certificate or Diploma, Professional Certificate or Diploma, Graduate Certificate or Diploma.  Candidates must complete a project-based award application form as an initial step.  A presentation, an interview, or a top-up learning may be required of a candidate before an award is considered.

The research-leadership admission categories include the following:
(a) Associate, Senior Associate, Fellow, or Senior Fellow of the Institute
(b) Practice Tutor or Associate Professor of Practice
(c) Assistant or Senior Researcher
(d) Sector Development Dean or Professor of Practice. 
An applicant must complete the research-leadership admission application form as an initial step.  A presentation, an interview, or a period of top-up experience/exposure may be required of a candidate before an award is considered.

Mission and Collaboration

Maximilian Institute in Ghana has emerged out of the engagements of Maximilian International University College. 
The Institute exists to (a) build teaching resources and learning facilities for the development of the University College, (b) advance the teaching capacity and professional resourcefulness of local organizations or projects in a partnership design, and (c) support the professional development of individual practitioners in the joined-up field of applied research, social renewal, and community development.
